Tomorrow is the final day of our 5 day West Coast Wilderness Bike Trail Tour, and it’s been amazing. We arrived the day before the start of the trip, and spent most of it driving up the coast in the rain, and not feeling very hopeful about the weather for the week. But by the time we made it into Hokitika, we had clearing skies and even a rainbow…

by evening, things were definitely looking up…

a beautiful sunset….

… and even a full moon!

The next day, we met up with the rest of the folks on our tour and our guides - everyone has been so much fun!

Beginning with first turn out the parking lot, we went the wrong way (Tom!), so the guide van had to chase us down and turn us back around. The group has been working on listening and navigation skills since then (but with not much improvement and more wrong turns along the way). The trails have been a blast, and we have seen some amazing scenery along the way with weather that has changed hourly…
Dense rainforests and waterfalls…

Amazing coastline….

Beautiful valleys and farmland…

Gorges and suspension bridges…

Lakes and streams…

wetlands…

… an old mining town…

We even stopped for a tree top hike along the way…

(opted out of the zip-lining)

All this leading up to our finish line in Greymouth Harbour…

So awesome to see all of this on bikes and meet some really fun people along the way!
