Today we made a visit to Maria Island National Park. You have to take a ferry to get there - it’s very isolated.

So the bikes probably weren’t the best idea, but it sounded like fun since there are no cars on the island. But it was SO windy…

and moutainous…

It was also another colonial penal colony (seems to be the common theme in Tasmania)…

So these cute fuzzy little wombats seemed a bit out of place, but they are everywhere!

The coolest part was the painted cliffs. They felt a bit like the slot canyons in Arizona…

This was a great stopover, but we leave tomorrow for Coles Bay and Freycinet National Park.
