We are staying in Coles Bay just outside of Freycinet National Park. Yesterday we took a long hike up to the iconic Wineglass Bay overlook…

…and the views were definitely worth the effort

… caught our breath, and then headed down to the beach. On the way, we saw our first tiger snake. Luckily the people hiking in front of us actually spotted it first, so we weren’t completely surprised, and were able to walk WAY around it. Seems they are very common around in the park, and very poisonous. No stopping for photos - leaving that to Adobe stock images! 😬

So we picked up the pace a bit and made it down to the beach. Pretty sure we passed way more snakes than the one we saw, but ignorance is bliss! The beach was beautiful…

Using our newly adopted strategy of making sure that someone [else] is always hiking directly in front of us, we continued over to the Peninsula Tract at Honeymoon Bay on the opposite side…

We made it back to Coles Bay - but it was a long day of hiking!
