We dipped our big toe back into Texas today just long enough to visit Guadalupe National Park. We thought about climbing El Capitan...

but reconsidered when we got a bit closer and decided to leave that to the amateurs - haha!. Instead, we took a beautiful hike through McKittirck Canyon. It was so windy until we reached the protection of the canyon, but it was worth the trek...

Worked up a big appetite and rounded out the day with the Carlsbad landmark Mexican restaurant El Jimador. Looks better on the inside? Not really, but the food was awesome.

We leave Carlsbad tomorrow and head to White Sands National Park. The parks have been almost empty, so hopefully that will continue. It has been so warm - hard to believe it is really February!
