Started the day with the best grapefruit I have ever had (straight off the tree!), and lots of positive thoughts about climbing Camelback mountain. It didn't look "too difficult" from our lounge chairs in front of the casita, so we headed out. At the trailhead we saw...

But it was another beautiful day, just perfect for hike, so off we went...

The first 30 minutes or so were pretty easy, and we were feeling pretty good about ourselves...

but then we started to pass people who were coming back down, that were looking a bit defeated - it was hard to miss.

We came around a bend thinking we were close to the top, and realized that we were only (maybe) halfway up! The wind was really picking up, so we decided to call "one hump a triumph", and headed back down. I am not sure if going up or down was harder - but we made it back in one piece, and will hopefully not be feeling it too much tomorrow!
