Today we continued south to Te Anau with a few stops planned along the way.

First stop - Nugget Point. A very remote lighthouse perched right out over the Pacific…

The views were amazing, but it was SO windy and the path was very narrow! Not my favorite combo…. Locals say that they sometimes experience all four seasons in the same day. At Nugget Point, it felt like we experienced all four seasons during our short stop there. It poured rain as we were heading back to the car, and it turned so cold, I thought we were going to get snow.

We were planning on continuing to Cathedral Caves, but they closed them for weather before we got there - bummer! So we had to use our imagination based an internet pic... Would have been cool - next time!

So we kept driving and made it to Te Anau by sunset where the weather was much improved!

It’s beautiful, and we definitely found an awesome Airbnb for this stay. 180 degree views directly on Lake Te Anau…

… and a hot tub! Not bad.
