The weather finally started to clear, so we headed out today on our Bay of Islands cruise (our 4 night cruise was modified to be 3 nights), with Captain Russell, his wife and first mate Karen, and the trusty boat mascot Woody…

The weather was kinda all over the place (no shortage of wind!), but the captain was really good about finding the coves that gave us the most protection from the winds…

Sad to say that this is the last time I ever saw my favorite hat though 😔. We headed out onto some open water shortly after we took this picture, and now is it floating around somewhere in the Pacific Ocean with a sea gull sitting on it.

Started to get a little hairy quickly and we weren’t smiling quite as much for a while…

Captain Russell came through and found a beautiful calm island cove for us to stop over at and put our feet on the ground again. We took a hike on the island and made some friends with the local sheep…

Unfortunately, the wind picked up again just after we anchored for the night… drowsy Dramamine to the rescue!
