So after a lot of talk about doing “it” while we were in Waihi Beach - Tom and I decided to take a surf lesson when we made it to Mt. Maunganui! Well, we made it here and it seemed like a good warm up for the sledging that we have planned for tomorrow. There is no actual photographic evidence of us being in the water, much less being on a surf board, much much less standing up on one (that wouldn’t exist since we never stood up!), but we had a lot of fun taking a crack at it. I could never get up on a surf board as a kid, not quite sure why I thought I could do it now.

We did ace getting our wetsuits on - after Tom figured out that the zipper needed to go in the back. Hystercial!

There were 2 young kids that took the lesson with us and of course, they were standing and surfing right past us and waving (just to add a little humiliation) almost immediately. Good for laughs and a fun memory!
