We have been in Kuala Lumpur for the past week hanging out with a club of international slow travelers. Most are either retired or semi-retired and are traveling full time like us. We’ve had a lot fun getting to know them and they are a great group - it’s nice to meet some other people just as crazy as us. We’ve shared some meals and done a few excursions together, including the Batu Caves. A Hindu temple built into a natural cave formation just outside of the city…

You have to walk up some very steep and colorful steps to enter the caves…

… and you meet more than a few of these guys along the way…

There are lots of other statues around the temple grounds also. This one kinda gave off merry-go-round vibes for me…

This one was kinda interesting. There was someone who was very enterprising that came up with the idea of a “cold temple” for the tourists, and sold tickets to get in. We were all so hot after climbing all of those stairs, we decided we should support the local economy…

There were ice sculptures…

… and slide that Tom had to try out…

it was all worth it just to cool off a bit!
