We had a great time with Al and Kara in Port Douglas and were sad to see them go, but we also kinda felt like we missed out not seeing a real cassowary or croc in our Daintree Rainforest adventures. So we went full into tourist mode, and headed to Hartley’s croc safari for some guaranteed sitings.
First up were the cassowaries. Very cool to see them up close, and it turns out that they aren’t really as mean as they say…

As long as you feed them grapes…

and stay away from their massive claws!

And there was definitely no shortage of the crocs! Some of them were just massive!

Some of the really big guys get very aggressive and they have to separate them from the others, otherwise they eat each other…

and they were every where!

They had a few American alligators in a separate area, and they honestly looked like puppy dogs compared to the big crocs…

Not sure what the turtle was thinking, but guessing the croc was deciding when it was snack time (he was just a baby)…

Inspired Tom to show some love to Chopper…

Other reptiles too, including this HUGE python….

So, we got to see the crocs and cassowaries, but the koalas will always be my fav!
