We only had a short stay in Silverton, but we discovered a few more interesting things about this cute little mountain town....

It has the only Frank Lloyd Wright house in the entire state of Oregon - so of course we had to go have a look...

It was scheduled to be demolished in 2001, but the FLW conservancy saved it by disassembling it, moving it 40 miles to a location in Silverton, and reassembling it again, adjacent to the Oregon Gardens...

And because I love good botanical garden, we had to go and check that out too...

Also, a very cute story about a local celebrity dog name "Bobbie" who found his way back home to Silverton Oregon, after he was lost while on vacation with his owner in Indiana...? The stuff that Disney movies are made of - but apparently this one really happened! Bobbie died a long time ago, but he has a whole mural dedicated to him in downtown Silverton....

Oh... and they make a pretty good local pinot noir - and Tom thought the local beer was good too.

Silverton was a good stop over - on to Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge tomorrow!
