We got our first look at Mount Rainier yesterday, and it was definitely impressive...

We started out on a pretty ambitious hike, with plans to do a loop on the sunrise rim trail...

Unfortunately, we forgot to bring our handy ice axe and spikes. We turned the corner of the trail, and discovered they weren't joking - and it was a looong way down....

Change in plan! Let's do an "out and back" ... and stop and smell the flowers along the way back down instead!
