Took a ride up the Pacific Coast Highway and took a tour of the Hearst Castle...

Just amazing grounds and architecture - designed by the first female architect licensed in the state of CA. She spent almost 25 years working for Hearst on this project. Apparently he had an issue with change orders and scope creep and budget ... and it was technically never finished!

Outdoor pool...

and the indoor pool with 24K gold inlays...

... and lots of amazing indoor spaces too..

... and just few miles down the road from the castle is Vista Point. A large sanctuary for elephant seal breeding...

... but this little guy was definitely my favorite!
