We left California and headed over the Oregon border towards Port Orford, Oregon...

We stopped and did a short coastal hike along the way to break up the drive...

Checked into the Airbnb later that day, and had more jaw dropping views waiting for us...

Port Orford is just a sleepy little coastal town with a population of about 1,200 (and I don't think they even have a single stop light), but we were amazed when we explored the Elk River corridor just outside of town today. Over 20 miles of biking along the most beautiful and cleanest river I have ever seen...

and we had all to ourselves!

Heading back tomorrow and bringing a picnic lunch .... and maybe a towel for a swim? The air temps barely hit 60 .... thinking it might be more of a cold plunge, but the water looks way to inviting not to give it a try!
