We took a day trip out yesterday to see some of the smaller surrounding islands, do some snorkeling, and visit the National Marine Park.

The bar was set pretty high for snorkeling just coming from some amazing sites in Indonesia and the Great Barrier Reef, so it was really more about just getting in the water and cooling off a bit…

a bit of kayaking….

We stopped at Mae Ko Island to hike up to the blue lagoon. It was more like a game of chutes and ladders (where being up to date on your tetanus shot was probably a good idea), and it definitely would not meet OSHA standards. The higher we went, the rougher and steeper it got…

… but we made it to the top in one piece and the view was amazing…

Bonus points for making it back down.
