Binalong Bay is our most northern destination in Tasmania and it is beautiful! We’ve been exploring mostly the coastline when the weather has let us over the past few days. Today we discovered the best tract yet, that took us up the coast on beach walks…

Lots of scrambling over the incredible lichen covered boulders…

that led to even more beautiful beaches and secret coves on the other side…

The scenery has definitely been the star attraction, but the Australian pelican we spotted gets honorable mention 😀. They are quite different from the brown pelicans we typically see on the US east coast. They are huge with a wing span (up to 8 ft!), and they surface feed instead of diving for their food.

Would love for this guy to do a fly over with a few of his friends!

Tomorrow we leave for Launceston. Hard to believe we have spent almost a month here in Tasmania!
